…I’d like to discuss Angie’s list, you can post a review on Angie’s list here —–>

I formerly received Angie’s List Super Service Award for businesses’ who consistently meet Angie’s “high level” of customer service…they are now FORCING me to remove ALL reference to the award…Windycityhandyman.net Inc. received Angie’s List’s Super Service Award, in multiple categories for 3 consecutive years “an honor bestowed annually on approximately 5 percent of all the businesses rated on the nation’s leading provider of consumer reviews on local service and health providers”.”

Removing all information related to my past with angies list, as a successful service provider is fine, if not for the deceptive reasoning for this by Angie’s list. For Angie’s list to force a former service provider to remove all PAST awards, under highly specious circumstance, shows that Angie’s list chooses to hide and to conceal the facts, which they believe will erode their customer base.

In 2014, I did not renew my marketing agreement with Angie’s list, because I disagree with many of their policies, and after refusing to pay for “marketing”, I was removed from Angie’s List. Maybe businesses “can’t pay to be on Angie’s List” but they certainly HAVE to PAY to stay on Angie’s List. Take it from me! This violates Angie’s list main policy and mission statement.

In addition, I was the highest ranked contractor/handyman in many categories, and Angie’s list is violating the very principle that the company was supposedly founded on: “Our mission is to help the best consumers find the best service providers” – quote from Angie’s list

This is the type of unscrupulous activity that caused me to leave Angie’s List. I found out from an Angie’s list member, who contacted me, that I am no longer listed.

Many people who subscribe to Angie’s list search to verify that a company, like mine, is upstanding, but they no longer find A ratings or some of the highest rated service providers. So, Angie’s list is hindering their own customers chances of finding the best contractors.

Recently, I tried to reach out to a disgruntled customer who is posting a misleading review all over the internet. Angie’s list stepped in, claiming proprietary right to the review posted all over the internet, not just on Angie’s list. I told them they were wrong and sent them the links. Angie’s list didn’t listen. They went further and stated that by trying to reach out to the customer, and therefore I must remove all past recognition that links me to Angie’s list.

In doing this, Angie’s list is abusing the law. They have NO business claiming proprietary right to a review posted many places online. Reaching out to a customer is something they have ENCOURAGED me to do in the past, which led to the removal of a fraudulent post that Angie’s list solicited from a non-member. He reviewed a plumbing company and not my company.
